Sari dharti bhaun lai bhaven lambi umar handhai ja; Kahbe teerath kashi ja ke mal mal pinda nahai ja. Jionde jeea vi sarh ke je toon jaan apni kurban Karen; Tan tera je khan darinde apne lahu da daan Karen. Nyoli karam kama ke bhaven aasan lakh badalda ja; Saadhan sanjam kar kar lakhan marag lakh badalda ja. Jatan anekan kar ke vi too paar kadi nahin ho sakda; Akkhin n rab vekh layen je pyar kadi nahin ho sakda. Nirankar jehi cheez koi nahin naam hari da nyara ey; Kahe avtar je gur ton bujhen tahiyon paar utara ey. |

O’man, you may move round the whole earth and live a long life; You may visit Kaba, kashi or any other place of pilgrimage, take bath and rub your body. You may resort even to self-immolation and sacrifice your life; You may allow the wild animals to devour your body, you may donate your blood as sacrifice. You may perform yogic exercises and keep on changing millions of postures; You may make countless efforts, observe abstinence and go on changing the paths. In spite of these countless efforts, you cannot transcend[the ocean of materialism]; Unless you perceive the Formless One-Nirankar with your own eyes, you cannot love Him. Nothing can compare with the Formless One-Nirankar and unique is His name; Avtar says, you can transcend [the ocean of materialism] only if you know God from the True Master. |
Meaning
You may move around the whole world and spend your long life. You may visit Kaba, Kashi and other places of pilgrimage, taking bath in the Ganges. You may even resort to self-immolation and sacrifice your life. You may allow the wild animals to eat your body and you may even donate your blood. You may perform yogic exercises and keep changing lakhs of postures. You may make countless efforts, observe abstinence and keep changing the paths to attain God. In spite of these countless efforts, you cannot transcend the ocean of materialism. Unless you perceive this Nirankar with your own eyes, you cannot love Him. Nothing can compare with the Formless One and unique is His name. Avtar says, you can transcend the ocean of materialism only if you know God from the True Master.
